Acts 12:4, Herod’s intention was to deliver Peter to the Jews for execution after the Passover. But earnest prayer was going up to God from the church for his safety all the time he was in prison. The night before he was to be executed, he was asleep, double-chained between two soldiers with others standing guard before the prison gate, when suddenly there was a light in the cell and an angel of the Lord stood beside Peter! The Angel slapped him on the side to wake him, and said! Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off of his wrists! The angel told him get dressed and put on your shoes.” And he did. Now put your coat on and follow!” The angel ordered….Peter couldn’t believe what was happening , the iron gate to the street, opened on its own! The the angel left, Peter realized that he was free, he went over to Mary’s home, where many were gathered in a prayer meeting. When Rhoda told them that Peter was free and standing at the door, they thought she was out of her mind!……………….See we all battle doubt sometimes, “Mark 9:24, demonstrates our weakness on occasion, ” Jesus healed a fathers’s son, and he immediately cried out, Lord I do believe, but help my unbelief. We should not let this stop us from praying, as we can see in the story of Peters rescue, “prayer really does change things, “that’s why the word say’s ” men aught to always pray,”Luke 18:1-8, “and pray without ceasing,”1Thes. 5:17, ” Phil. 4:6-7, tells us do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. I am not going to elaborate on the passage any further, as it is already packed full of power and demonstration. “So I will simply ask you to never give up on God, ” Surely His arm is not shortened that he can’t help you,”Isaiah 59:1. May the Lord keep you in perfect peace!
